Today started at 3am and I've been going non-stop since then. But even though I was up at three, I didn't anticipate how hectic my morning was going to be:
1. Flight delay
2. Unplanned terminal sprints through Dallas airport
3. Getting to the gate with 1 minute to spare only to have the gate agent tell me that she closed the flight early (I was still able to get on thankfully)
4. Finally getting to my final destination... without my bag
5. Airline being "unsure of where it is"
It's just been one of those days. But on the up side, the conference resort is gorgeous and there is a running path right by it!!!
I was able to go to the nearby grocery store and pick up some essentials...
(I got some toiletries too don't worry)
Then I spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon checking on the status of my bag and trying to figure out what my plans for clothes would be if the airline was not able to find my bag and delivery it tonight. I decided to ask the Concierge and we went through a few options, but the best one was to head to a town about an hour away and check out the stores there.
So I got a ride from the resort to the bus station... took a bus from Snowmass to Aspen... took another bus from Aspen to Glenwood Springs... found an outfit to wear for the first day of my conference... took the reverse trip to the resort... walked into my room... and saw this...
My bag came!!!! (oh the irony of this day)
I have all the stuff I need for the rest of the week (I think). So the rest of the night will be spent relaxing (after I find something to eat) and preparing for a morning workout and a day filled with learning more about the area of my profession that I am 100% passionate about: pediatric trauma care.
Have you ever had cashew milk ice cream?
Do you prefer to check your bags or carry them on?
Have you ever been to Colorado (or do you live here)?
