Why I Don't Wear Race Shirts...

I don't wear race shirts. I keep them, but I don't wear them because I'm saving them. Don't worry, this isn't the introduction to a blog episode of "Hoarders". I'm actually saving my race shirts because one day I want to make a race-shirt quilt...

I got the idea to do a race shirt quilt shortly after I started running so I never got into the habit of wearing the shirts on race day or during regular training runs. There were a few exceptions (like the color run shirt) but other than that I've kept them safely tucked away in my closet...

To get the quilt that I want I need about 30 shirts. Right now I have 23, so hopefully (fingers crossed) I will have enough shirts to have a quilt made by the end of the year (just in time to put this on my Christmas wish list)...

There are a ton of companies that turn shirts into quilts but the one that I want to use is...

I like the PROJECT REPAT story and the quality of their quilts (based on what I can see online and testimonials etc). I also like the variety and options they provide. You can check out their page to learn all about race shirt quilts; but first tell me your race shirt story...

Do you wear your race shirts?

Do you prefer short sleeve or long running shirts?

Do you have a favorite race shirt? What event is it from?
