Lucky for me today is Yoga Monday so I was able to get back into a better mood once I got home...
Yoga helped me refocus today. Normally I don't get into the "find your center" frame-of-mind but today I needed to "de-stress"...
And I did a lot of stretching and foam rolling and massaging with my new massage roller..
I'm trying to get my legs ready to run tomorrow...
The work day went by quickly (yay!) with lots of meetings and "meeting type" activities (more on that later). The highlight of my workday was lunch, of course, because it included sweet potato fries...
(Did you know that when you order a Tuna Melt without the "melt" (cause I can't eat cheese) people look at you weird?)
This week is a big running week for me with two back-to-back race days: Saturday's Ft. Lauderdale Airport 5K and Sunday's Miami Beach Half Marathon! I'm not sure what my strategy should be for these events. I want to enjoy the 5K because I have my half the following day (and it is a very unique event). And I still want to PR at the half on Sunday but honestly, just reflecting on my pace over the past few weeks, that's highly unlikely. But I'm going to try anyway...
Have you ever run back-to-back races? What's your strategy?
What do you prefer: Taper week or Rest week?
Anyone racing this weekend?
Your yoga mat is so cute! Where did you get it? And good luck in your races this weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I actually got it at Forever21. It wasn't a bad price ($10). They had a bunch of colors etc, but not sure if they all say the same thing.
DeleteI prefer taper weeks, that way I don't go a whole week with out running, I need to get better at doing yoga regularly I miss it and really do feel better once I am done!
ReplyDeleteDo you take off the whole week after your race?
DeleteI'm trying to see how financially feasible it will be for me to take a yoga class when I start training for my full. I think I will need more help with the poses and proper body alignment (beyond what I attempt to do at home)
