Pins & Pools...

I tried acupuncture for the first time yesterday afternoon. It was different. I definitely felt relaxed, but some of that might have been because of the ambiance and the "happy thoughts" I distracted myself with...
Acupuncture is one of those "cumulative effects" therapies so I'm going to keep an open mind and continue to go and hopefully I will see improvement in my pain level. Since the steroid injection to my right hip I haven't had any pain, but I still feel a strain in that area when I do certain physical therapy exercises.

This morning I had my 8th physical therapy session and I got great feedback about the improvement in my form. I still can't run until Wednesday (sigh) so until then I'm just focusing on the stuff I can do.

So with that in mind, after physical therapy (and food), I went to the pool and did pool running for 1.5 hours...

A lot of runners use pool running/water running/aqua jogging as a form of cross training when they are injured or trying to reduce injury risk...

I used my aqua jogger to help with my form...
Kai was a great distraction during the pool running session (she did handstands in the water to keep me entertained).

Then, after the usual Sunday chores were done, I took her for a driving lesson...
She did awesome!
{p.s. I didn't have a heart attack and I didn't freak out and give her a heart attack}

Have you ever tried acupuncture?

Are you a pool running fan?

How old were you when you had your first driving lesson?

  1. I seriously love acupuncture! It's helped so much! I have wanted to try pool running out, but don't have a flotation for me to do it correctly. :S

    1. I can't wait to try it again! How often do you go? You can do the pool running correctly without the flotation device it's just a lot harder and I personally don't posses the core strength required ;) but it is an amazing workout!
