That Moment When...

...you realize today isn't Friday:
All day long I thought today was Friday. That happened to me yesterday as well. It was quite a shock when I realized that the weekend wasn't coming as fast as I wanted it to...
I also thought Thanksgiving was this weekend so clearly I need to pay more attention to what's happening on my calendar :(

...you want to start your "Race Week Countdown" one week early:
I got an email about the Reggae Half marathon and it reminded me that it's two weeks away!!! I'm excited! Less about the medal (sigh) and more about the pre-race pasta party and running the race with family. I messaged my BIL yesterday to see if he was as ready as I am...

...the best part of your day is your daydream:
I daydreamed my way through my 5 mile run this morning...
The first 3 miles still remain a struggle but I'm trying to establish 5 miles as my new minimum distance for this training cycle (fingers crossed)...
(my front camera pics are always so fuzzy :( sorry)

I was curious how I was doing pace-wise with my two 5 mile runs this week compared to the last time I did a 5 mile run...
not bad.

...the Color Run makes your "Top Three Short Distance Races" list:
I got my race pictures from the Color Run today and absolutely love them!

...you wonder if you can be awesome for 37 days:
The premise behind this is to run at least 1 mile every day for 37 days (the duration from Thanksgiving until New Years Day) so that you maintain your running through the holiday period. Since I'm training for Spring Full Marathon(s) I don't really need any additional motivation to run, but it looked interesting. Still, I'm not sure if now is the best time to take on that challenge... maybe during the summer when my running mileage will probably decrease (unless I get into the NY Marathon...or am crazy/lucky enough to do Chicago again).

Hope you had a great Fri Thursday!!!

Did you have any great (or not-so-great) moments today?

What are your plans for the weekend? (tomorrow is Friday so we can talk about that now right?)

What's your favorite short distance (<10K) race?

  1. There's nothing worse than thinking it's the weekend when you still haven't got there... :( I tried to run 3 miles a day for a month, which I missed out by three days.. I think a mile a day sounds good, but could be tough after the half marathon. The weather in your night time picture looks so different from over here.. I can't leave the house without a hat, gloves and a buff round my neck... :)

    1. 3 miles a day would be tough for me but 1 mile is doable. Maybe when I'm not training for something though because my rest days are as important :)
The weather is nice, but I wish it was a little colder (maybe not as cold as where you are though... How cold does it get during Winter?)
