Sunday's Snapshots...

The weather this morning was really nice. Slightly windy but not humid therefore perfect for running...

I started earlier than my running group and did 5:1 intervals, but even with the intervals the six mile run felt like a struggle. I'm not surprised considering my diet and lack of sleep over the past week but still feel disappointed (my goal was to complete 8 miles but by the time I got to 6 I knew it was time to stop)...

My usual post run pics...
Stretching my calves...
Resting my legs...

On the way home I almost fell asleep waiting for the drawbridge to be lowered...
By the time I made it home I actually fell asleep (I don't usually sleep during the day so I can tell my body really needs to catch up on rest).

Later in the afternoon, I took Kai and my niece to a Christening for my friend's twins...

and took pictures with Keva in Church until the service started (that's not frowned upon right?)...
(Kai looks really excited doesn't she?)

Of course, it isn't possible to have a camera out & take pictures without including Ree...

We paid attention and put our phones/cameras away once the service actually started. And I tried to set a good example and not squirm in my seat while we waited for all the other babies to be baptized (I tried... you know how I am with patience... even on Sundays... even in Church). But finally I was able to play paparazzi with my phone camera and capture this wonderful moment for Samantha and Javi and their beautiful twins...

I got notified that the Chi Running class I registered for might be cancelled. The registration will stay open until Wednesday, but if more people don't register then the instructor will be forced to cancel until a later date. That will make me so sad because I really want to try and incorporate a different gait that will decrease my injury risk (and this course has gotten great reviews for helping people do just that)...
If you know of any local people that might want to participate they can register HERE

I'm aiming for a 4-run week this upcoming week (starting tomorrow) to make up for my disastrous "training" this past week. I was lamenting on FB (via IG) earlier about my "bad run" this morning and got a well needed reminder from Jennifer that "the only "bad" run is the one you didn't do". It was just what I needed to hear :)

How was your weekend long run?

Has anyone ever been "stopped" by a drawbridge during a race???

  1. I did 9 miles but at an easy pace. Some days I just want to cruise.

  2. I was supposed to run 6miles at a steady pace, and barely ran 3.59 with intervals. I'm still working on the fueling and hydrating part of it all, so I'm trying to think of the run as necessary to help me figure out what I should/shouldn't do.

    1. You will figure it out. It takes time to work out the details of what's gonna work best for you, but once you do the results will be great and you will feel great!
