A Colorful Saturday...

I got up this morning and completed 10 miles...
[current run:walk intervals - 2min: 30sec]

The weather was pretty nice this morning...

There was still a little humidity in the air, but it wasn't nearly as humid as it has been in the past few weeks...

After the 10 mile run I took a quick shower and got ready for the Color Run 5K. Kai was already dressed (shocking) so I got ready quickly and we headed to the race. Once we got there people were already lining up at the Start...

There were no colors at the start but I SAW BUBBLES!!!!!

(it was kind of like a scene out of Finding Nemo)

Our "pre-color zone" faces...

The send off of each wave was done seamlessly and soon we were off. The first zone was yellow, after which we saw a "What makes you happy?" post-it board...

We hardly noticed the miles passing by because we were having so much fun...

We ran when we I wanted to and walked when we Kai wanted to, and tried to get as much colored power on us as possible. After the orange zone I realized I needed to up my "color game"...
(if you're not drenched in color you're not doing it right)

After the blue zone and the "shine" (aka silver) zone Kai had to clean her glasses off (too much shine)...

And then we were all set!

So we headed to the finish line...

Post-run pic of Kai and her friends...

The finish-line/post-race party was awesome!!!

We enjoyed colored powder explosions...

And Kai had a GREAT time...

The race, the color zones and the post-race party were all great! And the medal was pretty nice too...

My legs covered 13.1 miles today so I'm resting for the rest of the day. Well, there might be an outing for food in the very near future, but apart from that I'm resting :)

Have A Colorful Saturday!!!!

Any fun plans for the weekend?

How many miles have you done/are you planning to do this weekend?

What's your favorite #ColorRun color?

  1. That looks like a lot of fun... it's something I haven't done yet.. But you seem to be getting the best weather at the minute!! It's freezing, windy and wet in Ireland at the minute.. Good work on that long run before the race too :)

    1. Thanks! What's the best time of year to run in Ireland? The Color Run was great! Thinking about finding more "fun run" to do
