Hug A Runner Day!!!

Today, November 20th, is officially Hug A Runner Day (yes it's a real thing, I checked) and in honor of this momentous occasion I signed up for a virtual 5K benefiting the Girls on the Run charity...

My big plans to organize a group run didn't quite work out as well as I wanted it to. Even Kaiyu bailed on me at the last minute. However you can usually count on at least one person to be as addicted to running as you are...
Mary and I before our virtual 5K run

The run itself was great. The company, awesome conversation, and laughing made the miles pass by a lot faster.
Summary pics...

I started to get really bad epigastric abdominal pain right before the 3 mile mark that gradually got worse. And by worse I mean VERY BAD. I don't usually run in the evening and in hindsight I probably didn't make the best food choices today considering I was going to be running. I stuck to Paleo but maybe I should have forgone the chicken tenders, sweet potato fries and coleslaw for lunch today. I also should have stayed away from my coconut milk ice cream pre-run snack (granted I only had two tablespoons)...
(p.s. the latest issue of Runner's World came today!)

So now I'm in bed trying to nurse myself back to health...

I really need lots of hugs today...

I'm not sure what I will be doing for my cross training tomorrow. Friday is normally a running day but since I'm not feeling well and I ran this evening I don't think running tomorrow morning would be a very wise decision. Hopefully I will feel better in the morning.

Did you participate in any "Hug A Runner" events today?

Any bad experiences with food before your running sessions?
