The Year of the Full: Chapter 12: The Final Countdown...

Now that the Thanksgiving holiday is over I'm trying to get everything back on schedule because there are a bunch of things I need to do before I leave for the Reggae Half Marathon (link)...
I can't believe it's Race Week!
This was supposed to be my final official race for 2015, but I set a goal to complete 15 events this year (Reggae will make 14) so I have to find another race/event before Dec 31st.

I'm still trying to improve on endurance and speed during my training runs and trying to push the running interval limits as much as I can. I did a 5 mile run on Saturday using 4:1 intervals...

Sunday was a cross training day so I went to the gym and did 1 hour on the stair master and light weights. Then I ran again on Monday (running a 1/2 mile: walking 1 minute)...

That was the end of my November training and I'm really proud of how consistent my running was last month...
Not a lot of high mileage but I struggled getting back into training after Chicago so I'm happy to see that I did at least 3 runs a week. Consistency with cross training is still a work in progress though. I'm very enthusiastic about the idea of cross training but not about the getting out of bed to get the cross training done (especially swimming).

This morning was my first run for December (5min run: 45s walk)...
...and my last run before the Reggae Half on Saturday.

I'm excited about Reggae because I've wanted to do this race since last year. I was actually registered for both the Chicago full and the Reggae full in 2014 but injuries caused me to defer Chicago and cancel Reggae (they didn't allow deferments). I probably could have completed the Reggae half last year but I decided to stay in FL and run Palm Beach instead (mainly because I wanted to complete entire the Florida Storm Series).

This year has been a pretty great comeback year for me since I completed Chicago (without dying) and everything is on schedule for me to run the Reggae half...and all this despite having a significant injury earlier this year!

A few of my friends are temporarily off the running scene because of injuries right now, and I know how frustrating that can be. I'm trying really hard not to join them...which means I really need to get my butt in gear and start doing my cross training again ;)

How do you stay motivated to do your cross training?

What races/events do you have lined up for the rest of the year?

What was your November mileage total? Any mileage goals for December?
