I'm really loving the cooler weather in the morning. It makes my early morning workout sessions so much more enjoyable...
Not enough for me to do more than a one mile run though (and it wasn't even a fast one)...
I'm focusing on working my legs back into full training mode. After my last half I took a week off before running again (I did some cross training and walking in between but no running for 6-7 days). Since my second half on Sunday I have taken one full rest day (which was Monday), walked once (on Tuesday), and ran a mile (today). I don't want to overdo it and push myself to do too much too quickly, but I also have the Palm Beach half coming up in 4 weeks so I can't afford to take it too easy either.
I'm not sure if I'm going to go into the Palm Beach half with any specific performance expectations. I will probably evaluate how I feel after my 11 mile training run with my group in two weeks...
("I've always got such high expectations...")
I absolutely love the course for Palm Beach (based on the map) and if there are no bridges to worry about it might actually be a better race for me than Ft. Lauderdale was.

Today was a great Paleo day....well for most of the day it was great. It's Damian's birthday so we went out to eat dinner. On the way to dinner I was able to capture the simplistic beauty of the evening sky...
We had a wonderful dinner at Brio (Italian cuisine) and as we were finishing up our entrees the waiter presented the dessert options on a tray right in front of me (that's just mean). It's easy to pass on dessert when it's on a menu...but when you can reach out and touch it....sigh...
(left - right: cheesecake; creme brûlée; bread pudding. top: carrot cake [with candle wax topping])
I received a mini lecture from my brother about not taking the whole Paleo thing seriously, but since birthdays come once a year (although it wasn't my birthday so I really could have passed on dessert) I figured "flexibility" in the whole nutrition department shouldn't be frowned upon :)
The week is almost over (yay!). I hope your Wednesday was great!
