The route had an incline for the first half or more and then the rest was pretty much downhill after that.
So far my plan to keep up my running throughout the holiday period has been working out well. It's nice to run in different environments with different groups of people and get out of my "running comfort zone". This morning I was given strict instructions to try and run the route straight (in other words... avoid intervals as much as I could). Since it was a short route I decided to try it and I did pretty well (all things considered). I only walked for a few seconds 2 or 3 times after getting to the top of an incline, but for the most part I ran the route straight. I was pretty proud of myself for doing that. It's always easy to make great strides and run out of your comfort zone when you are running with great people. Everybody in the group today was really nice (this is something I've noticed about runners...we always seem to welcome other runners with open arms).
Here are a few pics from my holiday activities over the past few days...

I only have a few more running sessions left for the remainder of 2014 and I'm going to try and keep pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Cutting out my intervals and incorporating hills into my running route is just the beginning...I'm excited to see what I'm able to accomplish in the next few days to close out the year.
Did anyone run on Christmas morning (or this morning)? Was it your usual route or someplace new?
