Bearing gifts we travel afar...

Just in case you need a reminder...

I ran 2.5 miles this morning for my mid-week running session. At this point in my training these sessions are really supposed to be longer than 30 minutes, but with all the stuff I had to get done before I left the house this morning I decided to keep it short. A 30 minute run will be my new minimum as of 2015, with a goal duration of 60 minutes for each of my mid-week runs...

The weather this morning was pretty good considering it's supposed to rain a lot in South Florida today (and apparently it's going to be really cold on Christmas). Even the humidity wasn't too horrific...

Overall summary...

Pace per mile breakdown...

The backdrop....

I only had half a day of work to get through but it couldn't go by quickly enough. I completed all of my end-of-the-year work & to-do list items early in the day, and then I was just too excited to sit still. That meant it was time for the final "at work" selfie pics of 2014...

And my favorite part of going to work on Christmas Eve....getting more presents & Christmas cards!!!
(I will be using that stress relief lotion daily)

My Christmas Eve lunch with my co-workers & Kai was amazing! I'm officially addicted to Cashew Chicken from the nearby Thai food restaurant. And (because life is too short for "or") I had both soup and salad...

The airport was a breeze, but in all fairness I got there really early so I didn't have to deal with too much of a crowd and to avoid feeling rushed. I did curbside check-in (lovely) and then headed to the gate to settle in for the 2+ hour wait until it was time to board (which was fine with me because that's when I wrote this blog post). I also treated myself to a tall soy pumpkin spice latte...

Every time I'm at the airport getting ready to board a flight I have to resist the urge to sing "I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again..." Sadly I don't have a one-way ticket so technically I am acutely aware of when I'll be back.

The next time you hear from me I'll be posting from the beautiful island of Jamaica after some quality time with my family!

Have a safe and wonderful Christmas Day!

Anyone traveling to visit family for the holidays?
