All you need is sun, sand and sea..

Vacation Day #4.5 was spent relaxing on the beach with family...
And eating great food...

It was the perfect way to decompress after a late night holiday party. I tried to get the party pictures in time for this blog post but we had a few "trying out the new phone" technical difficulties and they are currently lost somewhere in the Android version of the iCloud (until my sister is able to retrieve them). In the meantime I have three "before the party" pics...

The training plan for tomorrow is to try and run 8 miles. I'm still working out the details, which is the only drawback of running in places that are "new"...I can't just pick up and head out my door and start running (well I guess technically I can, but there is a greater likelihood that I'll get lost running through the neighborhoods down here)...

The Miami Half Marathon is four weeks away, which means that (apart from the long distance training runs I am able to do while I'm on vacation) I only have 3 training LRs left...

I'm still sticking with my "there is no time goal for the Miami 1/2" plan because it's a crowded course and I'm not sure what to expect with an event of that size. Also, it will be my first race where there are starting corrals with staggered start times. I'm not sure what corral I'm in yet (I won't find out until the package pick up) but it will probably be one of the last ones (if not THE last one). So with the pressure of a time goal gone I'm going to try and stick with my original plan to focus on increasing my running interval duration from 4:1s (which is what I did for the Palm Beach half) to 6:1s...

Is anyone running the Miami half or full marathon on Jan 25th 2015?

How do you stick to your training schedule when you travel for the holidays? Do you scope out running routes in advance?
