The Elephant In The Room...

It's been over two weeks and I still have lingering pain from my last long run. Being the typical runner that I am I haven't really wanted to talk/blog about it. Runners rarely want to acknowledge that they may have overdone it and need to take a few days off...
I don't think I've done a lot since my 20 mile run, but whatever I've done has clearly been "too much" because on Monday I could barely get through a mile without pain...


After Monday I decided to take a "rest week". It was a busy week of work and travel so the rest was a welcomed relief. I did a little cardio and walking during the week, but no running so I thought I would be ok for my 10 mile run this morning. Sadly, I could barely get through 3 miles...

So I have to confess that I have had several moments of feeling very frustrated. I know there will be good days and bad days...good weeks and bad weeks...but set backs still suck...

Anyway, I'm not going to spend the rest of the blogpost venting. Plus I read this and it made me feel a little better...

Injuries happen and they are never fun. I'm going to get it checked out, but in the meantime I've been doing some in-home physical therapy and using my portable TENS machine...

and otherwise keeping myself busy...
(I started playing Words With Friends too... I really need to work on my social calendar)

This week actually wasn't a bad social week. It was busy with travel etc but I got to spend time with one of my best friends, and then I spent time with my niece & nephew (& Minnie)...

And we all spent time with my twin sister...
I miss her...not living near your sisters suck :(
