Welcome To Pittsburgh!!!

I'm in Pittsburgh!!! And It. Is. Cold. But the plus side of the cold is that it's snowing!!!
(Can you see the tiny slow flakes in my hair?)

The trip up was uneventful. I traveled on Southwest and they allowed me to check my carry-on and my poster for free! Best. Airline. Ever.  Once we got our bags, Kai and I took a Lyft ride to the hotel where we met up with Shakeva and Caleed!
(the kids were enjoying the flurries)

We walked the city for a bit in search of gloves for me (Kai had mine because hers went m.i.a somewhere in transit) and a nice top for me to wear to the conference tomorrow (because I left the one I was planning to wear in the dryer at my house 🙈).

We saw a few more flurries as we walked around...

And eventually we finished shopping (and exploring downtown) so Kai and I went to get something to eat...
(we shared the hanger steak with squash and [the worst tasting] mushrooms [I've ever had])

I also ordered a "small plate" of crispy brussel sprouts...

The conference starts tomorrow and I'm getting excited! I initially planned to run before the conference but based on the temperature (and how dark it will be at 5:30am in downtown Pittsburgh), I think I'm just going to run after. I'm glad I ran this morning before I left South Florida though, and even more glad that my Garmin got resurrected from the "coma" that it slipped into during my run last night. Today's run was just a mile...
(I'm looking forward to the day when 10 minutes is my "easy" pace)

Before I sign off for the night, I saw this funny meme on Facebook that I have to share with you...
(my daily conversations with Kai about her room go just like that 😉)

Have you ever been to Pittsburgh?

What's your favorite thing to do when you travel to a new city?

What's your goal/dream running pace?

  1. I lived in Pittsburgh for 4 years in college (Hail to Pitt!) and it's my favorite city! If you have time you should go to the Cathedral of Learning on Pitt's campus - it's where I used to have classes and it legit looks like Hogwarts inside!
