In Less Than Eighty Days...

I ran yesterday evening for the first time since the Morgan Valley Half Marathon. I decided to count my 2.5 mile hike on Sunday as "cross training" so I'd feel less guilty about not doing anything on Monday or Tuesday. Especially when I stepped on the scale on Wednesday morning...
Wednesday's run was 3.5 miles with Maggie and Niqui...
It was humid but great. Evening runs really suck because I can't seem to get my nutrition figured out, but the time went by quickly because we were talking and laughing the entire time :)

The countdown for Chicago continues (less than 80 days away!!!)...
I'm not ready. But I will be. Hopefully.

I got my corral placement a week ago...

I'm nervous about it. But I know more and more people going so that's been making me get more excited about the trip. I'm helping a friend of a friend fund raise for the Red Cross so that she can run in the Chicago Marathon also. You can check out her page here

I was unpacking my suitcase from my Utah trip (I take forever to unpack...if I remove 5 items from my suitcase a day I feel very accomplished). And while I was unpacking I came across my race swag from the Morgan Valley Half Marathon...

One of the fliers was promoting the Reggae Marathon in December (along with a cruise to get there!)...

Which reminded me that I needed to register for the Reggae Half. The registration price increases on August 1st so if you're planning on registering you should do it soon...

How has your Fall Marathon/Half Marathon Training been going?

What's on your race calendar for the rest of the year?

What's the best race swag you've ever gotten?

  1. I'm just starting back to training after taking a couple of weeks off... I just realised it's only 50 days until my big race.. I am starting to panic now.. I've read about the Raggae Marathon... I'd love to do the half marathon, but it might take me a while to save to get over there...
