The Rest of the Utah Trip...

After my half marathon on Saturday morning I was in desperate need of a long hot shower and really good food. Both Giselle and I were deliriously hungry which caused us to slack off on the important things in life, like parking properly...

And in return we got a lovely note...
(At least they said "please" right?)

After lunch (and our parking lesson) it was time to enjoy the rest of the day. We went to the Utah Olympic Park...

And watched the ski practice...

Some of the stunts we saw...

And then went on the Adventure Ropes course...

I thought I was going to die. I'm not afraid of heights. I get why some people are, but it's not the height that bothers me. It's not even the possibility of falling that makes me wary. I'm a trauma nurse so I'm more concerned with the ramifications of falling. Like if I plummet to the ground my death won't be instantaneous and EMS won't have enough narcotics to numb the pain (see? a very logical fear right?) Even though I was securely harnessed in, thoughts of plummeting were abundant. But in the end we survived and we were beaming with pride at our accomplishment...

Then we went in search of Starbucks coffee and cake pops (because a near death experience deserves a treat). We hung out in the hotel for most of the afternoon/evening and then went in search of more food (I ate entirely too much on this trip).

On Sunday morning we decided to do a 2.5 mile hike up the mountain behind our hotel...

It took us 1.5 hours to reach the top and I'm going to blame that on the fact that I took sooooo many pictures (and for the record it had nothing to do with how many rest breaks we needed). We actually had to call the hotel and request a later check out because (as I told the front desk) we "underestimated how long the hike would take".

I'm not really a nature girl. I normally avoid anything that puts me in close proximity to insects or lizards....or rattlesnakes (or bears). But Park City is so beautiful. I really fell in love with the city while I was there.

Here are a few pics from the hike up the mountain...

And then when Giselle and I finally reached the top...

Once we were done with picture taking we took the ski lift down the mountain...
...and then we headed back to the hotel to get ready for our flight.

I had such an amazing time. Between the conference and the half marathon and all the other fun activities, this has made the list of one of my all time favorite trips!

I know I went a little picture crazy on this post (and the race recap post), but I wanted to share the beauty of the city as much as possible. Hope you liked them!

Have you ever gone hiking?

Would you do an Adventure Ropes course?

How bad is your parking?
