"Rolling Hills" & "Pizza"

That moment when your doctor says "I'm going to need some time to study your case and come up with a treatment plan, so don't run until then"...

The appointment actually went better than expected. It was the first time I've ever been to a Chiropractor (which is probably kind of shocking considering my scoliosis) so I wasn't really sure what to expect...
(Turned sideways the x-ray of my spine looks like "gently rolling hills" doesn't it?)

After a detailed conversation about my "history of injuries" & running goals, a couple of x-rays, 30 minutes of electronic muscle stimulation, and an adjustment, my doctor said "We'll get you to the Chicago finish line safely". He's my new favorite physician :)

I go back to hear the details of my treatment plan tomorrow and I also have an appointment with a Sports Medicine doctor this week. But the plan is (if I'm given the "ok") to run on Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed please :)

Not running has given me time to comb through my Stride Box for this month...
(After a run I treat myself to good food)

I don't always find use for the contents of the Stride Box because a lot of the energy bars and food items have dairy ingredients. But there are usually two or three things that I really like. This month I got a few cool things to try, like new sunscreen...
SPF 30 isn't much but it's a whole lot more than the 0 I use currently

And anything with "pain relief" is worth trying...
I can't wait to taste the grapefruit stingers :)

Last night I had a weird craving for homemade pizza so (after a detour to the supermarket on the way home) that's what I made for dinner...
The Oreos were for dessert. The hummus replaced the cheese. And I used hot dogs instead of pepperoni (I never said it was a healthy dinner)

It actually tasted pretty good, despite the final appearance...
It's times like these I know Kai is glad she is away on vacation and doesn't have to be subjected to new culinary creations (she eats with her eyes so the food has to "look good")

Hope you had a great Tuesday!

What are your favorite pizza toppings?

Do you wear sunscreen every time your run?

Have you ever been to a chiropractor? How often did/do you go?

  1. I have tried a Chiroprator for hip pain. After a few visits my pain went away. I need to go back for an adjustment. Your dr seams thorough.
