I woke up this morning completely exhausted...
Apparently I was in and out of deep sleep last night, and so despite getting about 6.5 hours of sleep, I still wasn't well rested...
Needless to say when I woke up this morning I decided to postpone my run until after work. I'm determined to stick to my 2017 running streak (it's only day 4 after all), and after putting out figurative fires at work, I was in dire need of a run (and a good day)...
So once I got home, I quickly changed my clothes and headed right back out the door and around my complex for my daily run...
(not a bad pace right?)
I know it's only been four days but I'm really excited about the streak so far. It's easy to make excuses why you "can't" go and run but...
And I've been at a sub-12 min/mile pace for all of the runs so far, which I'm hoping I can maintain (and eventually decrease). There was a time (waaaaay back in 2015) when I ran a sub-10 minute mile...
#goodtimes 😊
The year is starting off slower than I wanted it to (in terms of miles run) but then again I did not anticipate getting the flu. If all goes according to plan, tomorrow morning I'll be resuming my normal mid-week run mileage and I'll be able to get back on track. And I really need to get back on track because I only have a little over 3 weeks before my first events of 2017: the Miami Half Marathon & Tropical 5K...
Do you monitor your sleep cycle? What app or tracker do you use? (I use my Garmin vivoactive watch).
What's your fastest one mile pace?
