86 Miles in the Month of July...

I ran 86 miles this month...

It's 14 miles away from my goal of 100 miles/month, but I'm getting closer. I should be able to reach that goal in August, since it's destined to be a higher mileage month because of my scheduled 20 milers...
(yes I've scheduled more than one, but I spaced them out generously (I think) and I won't attempt the second one if I don't feel I'm ready for it)

I'm so glad it's Friday! I ran this morning to celebrate (and also because it's a scheduled running day)...
I'm doing a lot better with my running form now...

compared to my heel-striking running form from earlier this year (and even before then)...
(this was at the Miami Beach 1/2 marathon in March this year)

Today was shaping up to be a really great Friday. I had an awesome (albeit humid) run this morning, I noticed a big improvement in my running gait, and I made some noticeable progress on a project for work. But then I had a dentist appointment in the afternoon and that was the end of it (as I sit here typing this post I'm waiting for the numbness to go away and the swelling from my procedure to go down)...

We are five months away from the end of the year (I know right?! Where has the time gone???). And I have five more scheduled races for 2015 (for now). I still have to find a few 5Ks or 10Ks to run to complete my goal of running 15 races this year, and I want to find at least one more half marathon to do. The remaining line-up for 2015 looks like this:

September: Miami Children's 5K
October: Chicago Marathon
November: Disney 1/2; Naples 1/2
December: Reggae 1/2

Next year definitely won't have a busy race calendar. I have a few races already scheduled (or ones I'm already planning for), but I think I might stay away from paying for the shorter races (5Ks and 10Ks) and focus on half and full marathons instead. 2016 is supposed to be the year for the Athens Marathon (in November), but with this training in the Summer thing... I don't know. The humidity is brutal. So many people (and Instagram posts) have said that Summer training leads to Fall PRs... I'll just have to wait and see I guess ;)

What does your race line-up look like for the rest of 2015?

What's the most number of races you've run in a year?

How many miles did you run in July?
