Family Time

I'm home!!!! Well, I'm "home" in Jamaica with my family for my baby sister's wedding! Wednesday was an early travel day (after only a few hours of sleep) so by the time I got to my parent's house I was exhausted...

On Thursday morning I had a great run with my adopted running "family" in Jamaica. One of my favorite things about my new running lifestyle is the fact that it has brought so many people into my life. And because (and I firmly believe this) runners are generally really nice people, is easy to feel comfortable and at home around them even if you've only run with the group a few times.

This morning we did a 5K route...

The elevation profile wasn't too bad...
I'm still technically on my "recovery week" so I stayed towards the back on the pack and ran with my friend Jason. We kept up a steady pace and we only had to take a few walk breaks. It remained pretty dark throughout the run so it was nice to run with someone (although I have to admit that the running group is great about having security along the route who patrol back and forth on their bikes).

After my run I had to switch gears and go into "bridal shower prep" mode to set up for my sister's shower. She had a great time! It's so nice to see her so excited for her upcoming big day! Her feet are definitely "HOT"...

I don't run again until Monday (the weekend will be really busy as you can imagine), but I'm looking forward to it. It will be a hilly route and the plan is to do line sprints (which I've never done before so I'm excited to try them!).

What's your favorite Bridal Shower game?

What's the nicest Bridal Shower token/gift you've ever gotten?

Have you ever dome hill sprints or line sprints? How did you like them?
