Finally! A Friday Morning Victory...

There has been a raging battle between my desire for more sleep in the morning and my desire to get up and go to the gym. Sleep has been winning. A lot. But this morning the gym finally had a victory...

I was up early (really early by recent standards, but at the "regular" time based on my typical gym sessions)...

But I wasn't the only crazy person in the gym at that time. It only looks that way in the pictures because they don't really want you to take photos or videos in the gym (so my compromise is: No photos with other people in them)...

I tried not to go too crazy with the exercises (as you can probably tell) because I'm determined to run this weekend and I don't want anything to derail that plan. My session this morning was a mix of cardio and weights...
1. 7 min warm up on upright bike
2. 10 min interval session on stair master (1/2 mile; 23 floors)
3. Leg press:
           35 lbs x 12 reps x 1 set
           51 lbs x 20 reps x 3 sets
           67 lbs x 20 reps x 3 sets
           51 lbs x 20 reps x 2 sets
It's kind of weird how they structure the weights on the leg press machine. It bothers me that they didn't use multiples of 5 when setting up the different weight levels. These are the things that drive people with mild moderate OCD insane!

When I got back home from the gym I decided to take a walk around the complex. I didn't have the right shoes on (nor did I have my Garmin) so even though I took a few "run breaks" during my walking session I kept them brief...

I've been trying to keep myself from falling into the usual gloomy mood that permeates whenever I'm injured and unable to run. I think I'm off to a good start this morning (we'll see how the day goes) and  hopefully this hiatus from my training plan will be terminated by a long run this weekend. I'm not sure how long of a  "long run" it will be, but hopefully I will make it through at least 5 miles without pain.

What are your workout plans for today?

Have a wonderful Good Friday! {for those of you that celebrate it ;) }

    1. I know it sucks! I think I need to move up my bedtime so I'm not so exhausted in the morning ;)
