"Distance means nothing" is not entirely true as it relates to running (and anyone who has ever run a marathon can attest to that); but it's certainly true when your Valentine is miles away...
LDRs are hard but he makes it worth it...
Valentine's Day or not, training never ends so I woke up early this morning and ran with Jani...
We did a 4 mile run and we really tried to push our pace. We ran the first mile non-stop; then we took 1 minute walk breaks every 0.5 miles...
Initially we were going to do a 4 mile "square-ish" loop, but doing an out-and-back route seemed safer because there would have been large areas of darkness along the loop... and I forgot my taser at home. Tomorrow will be a shorter run at an easier pace and then Thursday I will aim for at least a 5K run.
In other news... ZOOMA has a new look (and new updates) for 2017!!!
Last year I had to do the Florida race virtually because of a work conflict, and as a result I missed out on all the festivities. This year I'm doing the Annapolis race virtually (it's the 10th Anniversary of that race so even the virtual race packets will have lots of cool stuff). But I definitely want to go to another race since my last "in-person" ZOOMA was the Chicago 2014 event.
Now that the race dates have been confirmed, registration is finally open for the 2017-2018 events! You can still use my discount code (LEANNE2017) to get 10% off the registration fee for any of the ZOOMA races (any location and any distance, including the virtual race options)
Are you doing any virtual races this year?
What's next on your race calendar?
