Every day runner...

My Tuesday gym day went well. I woke up at 3am and headed to the gym for core, cardio and a sprinkle of weights. Before I left I did my wall sit....

And elbow planks for day 7....

Today's gym workout summary
Captain's chair
Leg press
Upright bike

When I got back home I crawled back into bed again to get another hour of sleep before it was time to get ready for work...

I've decided that I'm not registering for any of the shorter long distance events (5Ks, 10Ks) for at least a year. So basically not until after my full marathon in Oct 2015. I've made that pledge before and then I signed up for the MCH 5K, but this time I'm really serious. Really. To emphasize this I declined to participate in a 10K that my running group is doing on Oct 26th and a 5K coming up on the same weekend...
Even though the 5K is for a great cause (organ donation) and it's being held at the same location where I am now doing my LRs, my training (and running cash flow) needs to be focused on longer events. That being said, I'm going to take advantage of the fact that there is an event on one of my scheduled training days. Whenever there is an event there are naturally more people around, and more people around (setting up etc) means a safer route for me. SO my plan is to start my training run early. Very early. I'm not going to use any race supplies or perks (that would be cheating) but starting my LR earlier means finishing earlier (hopefully I can finish my training run before the official event even starts!)

Even though I'm not participating in the event I'm still excited about promoting it (since it's for such a great cause). You can learn more about the Run 4-Life event HERE and register for the event HERE.

Milepost for today...
I don't run every day but every day is a training day (in one way or another) helping me become a better runner.

Were you strong today? Will you be strong tomorrow?
