My Inner Nemo & Unusual bonds...

I started today with a 1/2 mile (slow) swim at the gym. It felt good to be back in the pool. I'm always hesitant to get back into my swimming routine, but once I'm back in the water all that anxiety dissolves. I was trying not to manipulate my shoulders too much so I just took my time with the breaststroke (freestyle was not an option today). My right shoulder was especially bothersome last night so this morning I felt a little bit like Nemo...
At the end of the 1/2 mile session I felt good....tired, but not exhausted. I could have done several more laps but I decided to take it easy for now. I plan to do more swimming and build up my endurance for both swimming and running as part of the overall training for my upcoming races. Since I'm going to be spending more time in the pool I'm on the hunt for a new swimsuit. The main one I use now is pretty good but I want to be able to alternate between a few different ones (and my other swim suits are not the most appropriate training attire). I also want to get better goggles..ones that don't fog up too easily. So I'm going to start researching that but any suggestions of great brands to try will be greatly appreciated (comment or email works).

I did my wall sit today....
Not bad considering it's been a few days since my last one. My knee has felt good all day (which is exactly what I like to see (feel) before my running days). It will just be "me and the road" on tomorrow morning's run...
I've been encouraged to try and increase my running duration during my intervals so this week the goal is to focus on 4:1 sessions. My interval timer is already set and ready to go...
On Sunday my LR is solo so it will be a good opportunity to test my ability to do 4:1 intervals for a long run (minimum distance goal is 10 miles for Sunday...but I may do more depending on the elements and how I'm feeling).

While I was getting ready for work today I came across a few of my race day shirts hanging in my closet...
I don't hang them all up... but I'm curious to find out what others do with their race shirts...Do you keep them? Toss them? Recycle them as cleaning cloths? Wear them as often as you can??

In the spirit of full disclosure I think I may have an unusually close bond with my race day shirts (some of which I have never worn). It's not that I think the magic of the day will be drained after a few spin-rinse-and-repeat cycles...cause ahmm that would just be silly right? However, I do keep them separate from my stockpile of running shirts and I'm slowly beginning to realize that (in addition to race day shirts) over 87.64% of my wardrobe consists of running attire...

I also keep my race day bibs in a scrapbook to help preserve the memory of the accomplishment of that day. However, I came across this article in Runner's World that showcased all the different creative ways that some runners "recycle" or display their race day bibs...

Maybe one day I will turn all my shirts into a "Race Shirt" quilt...
What are some of the cool ways you reuse/display/recycle/upcycle your race day shirts and bibs?
