Another Successful Day...

Today was the last day of the Trauma Symposium! It was a huge success thanks to an amazing team leader and friend...
(Candace and me)

The highlight of the past few days was catching up with my former Pediatric Trauma Medical Director...

Both Candace and I worked with Dr. Stylianos when we were at Miami Children's Hospital...

I've been fortunate enough to work with great leaders in Pediatric Trauma throughout my career. Currently, Dr. Long and I try to keep each other sane while overseeing the Pediatric Trauma Program where I work now...

My morning selfies were followed by several hours of more amazing lectures and panel discussions...

And at the end of the conference day, after all the packing up and hotel checking out stuff was finished, we headed down to the hotel's poolside restaurant and had a nice relaxing lunch. The entire team wasn't able to make it but a few of us were there, and I had a special lunch date with this cute little guy...
(Kai was not impressed with my constant selfie taking 😉)

My lunch date gave me an early Valentines Day present...

And I eagerly accepted my gift...
(And Kai's still not impressed 😂... she has the same eye condition I do 🙈)

The food from the restaurant was ok, but the best part about the lunch was the company...

Very few of my friends have seen Kai grow up before their eyes, but Candace is one of them. When we first started working together Kai was a baby. And now...
(She is all grown up 🙈😍)

After lunch Kai and I headed home to relax for a bit and once the sun went to sleep I went out for my run...

So far the weekend has been great! I'm looking forward to a long run tomorrow with Mimi from my running group, and then hopefully I can catch up on some sleep 😉).

How was your Saturday?

What are your plans for the rest of the weekend?

Did you follow Dove's advice and hug somebody today?

  1. Do you work with the Child Protection Team ever? I used to work with our local one. I wasn't sure if it was the same type of trauma you were talking about.
