It will hurt...

Training for a marathon (or anything) isn't easy. And as you train, pain becomes something that you get accustomed to (at least on some level you do). I'm not saying that you should ignore pain or any of the warning signs that your body is giving you by thinking "oh that's probably normal".
Rather, it is rare (dare I say impossible) for someone to train for a marathon and have nothing hurt them, ever.

Today was a good day for me (knee pain-wise) which was awesome! I started the morning with cardio at 3:30am at the gym.

I did the upright bike for 20 minutes...
(I really am working on taking better pictures, I promise)

The elliptical for 20 minutes....

And the recumbent bike for 20 minutes...

For a total of 60 minutes of cardio! How did I get through it you ask? Well, I discovered this entertaining show...

And also re-watched my new favorite comedian...
(Rodman on Last Comic Standing)

The entertainment (once again) helped the time to pass quickly. Next week I am going to try to add another 15 minutes to my cardio sessions, either by adding 5 minutes to each machine or picking a forth option for 15-20 minutes (I haven't decided yet....it will probably depend on my mood at the time).

I saw this shirt that I was planning on buying since it captured my view of cardio so eloquently...

But then I saw this one...

and that shut me up so no clothes shopping today :)

I run tomorrow and I am really looking forward to it. I hope it is a great running session. It's my typical mid-week 30 minute run, but I am going to try something a little different tomorrow (famous last words...) so we will see how it works out!

What are some of your cardio favorites at the gym?
Share how your training is going...
