I ran this morning so clearly I'm in a great mood. I did a 4:1 ratio for about 1.5 miles and then switched to 3:1 for the rest of the time. I ended the session at the 30 minute mark...
I contemplated doing a 5K training session this morning but wanted to do an extended recovery session today with a little yoga remix* incorporated.
*yoga remix: deep breathing and a few of my favorite yoga positions and stretches done in random order
Running summary for today's session...
Pace per mile...
It was pretty humid, even though the numbers didn't really reflect it...
and it wasn't raining so clearly my weather app is a little off its rocker
I was sweating profusely by the end of the session...
I like when I have a nice scenic backdrop when I'm running...this morning the moon kept me company the entire time...
94 seconds! Everyday I get better at it! It still remains a "challenge" but I remind myself to keep pushing the limits (safely) of my capabilities. I'm going to jump ahead and make this day 9 (instead of day 8) and tomorrow I'm going to aim for 100 seconds. If I can jump ahead again in the next few days then my challenge day will be in line with the calendar day (those little details make a difference to me)
It's official! Kai and I are registered for the MCH 5K!
(sorry the picture kinda sucks)
I'm going to try and make this the very last 5K that I do...bigger races to budget for and all. I'm waiting to get a discount code from my new running group leader so that I can register for the Palm Beach Half Marathon in December. It will be my second half and this time I will be doing it after training with a group (versus the solo training I did for the Chicago half). It will be interesting to see how I feel before, during and after. That will be a good way to determine if group training is right for me, or if I'm better off training by myself (well primarily by myself...I did have company for several training runs).
Runner's World had a post on Facebook today asking everyone to comment and state what their race distance would be if they could only choose one. Of course I said the marathon because I'm determined to conquer it, but there was a lot of variety among the comments I read. So I'm curious what you would choose...
If you could only choose one race distance to run, what would it be?
Does anyone swim as their cross training? What motivates you to swim?
