Mother's Day Morning Run...

As I stepped out the door to head to the beach for my morning run I knew it was going to be a struggle. The humidity hit me like a ton of bricks! The air was wet and warm and awful :(

As I started my run on the beach the temperature was bordering on 80 degrees...
it felt so much warmer than that (the humidity will do that to you).

I gave up on trying to maintain a pace that I liked and just focused on my form...
and finishing the distance I set out to do...

The mile-by-mile breakdown of my run...

It was a "hard" run, but if I've learnt anything over the past two years of running it's that..

The 80% mental focus required for running didn't prevent me from getting new blisters today (despite my new anti-blister interventions). I'm officially annoyed, because if I can't get through 12 miles blister free then I know for sure my feet will be destroyed after 26.2. :(

For my birthday next week I'm going to get new running shoes to add to the rotation and I think I might get a bigger size so that I can start wearing two pairs of socks. My current shoes are already a half size larger to accommodate for the natural swelling of the feet that takes place when you start pounding away mile after mile. But when I tried to wear two pairs of socks in them they felt too tight. If I go up another 1/2 a size I think I should be ok to try the double socks again.

I'm resting for the rest of the day and aiming to have a nice and relaxing...
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! I hope you have/had a great day!!!

If you ran today, how was your run?

Did anyone do any Mother's Day themed events this weekend?

I need blister solutions! Please comment if you have any :)
