"Feels Like 8 Degrees"...

I braved the "feels like 8 degrees" weather this morning and made it to my run with Chelsea's group: Pro Bike + Run. Chelsea and I are fellow ZOOMA Ambassadors for their 2017 race series and she lives in Pittsburgh...

She was so sweet and helpful when I asked the ZOOMA group for tips on where to run while I was in the city. And even though I knew a morning run was going to be cold, nothing prepared me for this...

When we got to the meet up spot Chelsea was kind enough to lend me extra layers and warm things for my ears while we waited for the group run to start...
(this is a pic from along the course)

The group has difference pace sub-groups...

So I decided to run with the 12 min group (Chelsea ran with the 11:30 group) and I paired up with Jennie during my run...

No one else did intervals so I ran non-stop except for the few seconds that I stopped to take pictures along the route...

It was supposed to be a 6 mile run but it ended up being closer to 7 miles...

And included a few inclines...

My fingers and toes were numb for the entire time I was out there. In fact my fingers were numb to the point of being painful. It took hours after for them to feel "ok" and some areas still hurt when I press them 😫. I think I needed thicker gloves (or maybe two pairs of gloves 😉).

After the run I met Tonya and we just happen to follow each other on IG!
(I like when I meet my running peeps!)

Once I got back to the hotel, and defrosted in a hot steamy shower, it was time to eat and then head out to take the kids to see the Carnegie Museum of Natural History...

We spent a few hours exploring the different rooms/exhibits...
(my godson exploring the dinosaurs)

(Kai & Caleed)

The rest of my day was pretty uneventful. We had lunch and then Kai and I headed to the airport for our flight home...

I had a great trip overall. The cold weather was a nice change to the heat in Florida (even with the first degree frostbite to my fingertips 😉).

Do you like going to museums? Which ones?

What's your favorite running season? (mine is late Winter-early Spring in states other than Florida)

What's your favorite airport? (mine is Chicago... but I'm kind of biased 😉)

  1. What a fun day!!! That run looked beautiful! I don't know how you did that in that temp... the few times it's been in the 40's here I felt out of my mind being outside running hahah.

My fave airport is JFK because if I'm there it means I'm off to some super fun adventures in NYC! Lol

    1. JFK is a great airport! Is NYC your favorite city? The trip was great and the run (minus the cold) was really nice:)
