MY 500th BLOG POST!!!!!

When I started blogging in 2014 I had already been running for about a year. I still felt like a brand new runner at that point and, even though I wasn't new to writing, I had never done a blog before. At the time I wasn't sure where the blogging journey was going to take me...
I wasn't completely sure where the running journey was going to take me either. But I knew that I wanted to complete a marathon, and I knew that I wanted to write about my experiences along the way to achieving that goal.

Over the course of my 500 blog posts I've told you about my full marathon experiences in New York...

and Chicago...

I've also gone way beyond my comfort zone, and possibly pushed the boundaries of sanity, by completing Ragnar Relays with "stranger friends" from Facebook. My first Ragnar was the road relay in Chicago...

And then I did my first trail race (and had my first real camping experience) at Ragnar Alafia...

I also discovered that the boundaries of my comfort zone extend beyond the security of land. So I tested out my athletic endurance in the open waters and shared the lessons I learned from Swim Miami...

Of course, it's never enough to just do things once, so I went back for a second dose of sea water and convinced my sister-in-law to do it with me the following year...

Throughout my blogging journey I've traveled all over the country and even did an international race at the Reggae Half Marathon in Jamaica...

I've also taken the blog on international trips that had a lot of running involved (but I did very little of it) when I went to Rio for the Olympics...

Over the (almost) 3 years of blogging and 4 years of running I've mentioned how much I wanted to run a race with my twin sister because she was my motivation for getting into running in the first place. Well, I was finally able to do that at the Chicago Half Marathon...

I've run for those who can't at the Wings For Life World Run...

And I've run 5Ks with my daughter... though that is now a very rare occurrence since she's been focusing on track and the shorter distances. But I'll never forget the iRun 5K where she won first place in her age group...
(we've only run a few races together since this one)

Although most of my blogging journey has been about races and events, through my posts you've gotten to learn more about the other aspects of my life. Some of those aspects I allude to without going into too much detail and others I talk about more openly. One of the major life changing events that I happened to talk about openly was the fact that my uncle and cousin are missing...
(they still are so please keep them in your thoughts)

And I shared a bit of the story behind my unfading scars...

I've shared so many things on this blog from how I got started in running to the dream races on my Bucket List. From the brands I love to Race Ambassadorships, and my desire to ask runners why they run

It has been an amazing blogging journey so far and I'm beyond grateful for everyone who has read my blog, taken the time to comment or like a post, shared my posts with others, or simply told me "great post today".

Thank you for motivating and encouraging me to reach 500!

I can't wait to see what the next 500 posts will be about!
