The End Of A Sad Day...

This is going to be a really short post, but before I talk about anything else, let me just say that my heart goes out to all the people who are mourning the loss of a loved one as a result of the shooting at Ft Lauderdale Airport today...

The end of a sad day requires a run. Even if it's only one mile...

The pace felt good and the run, though short, was a great a therapeutic workout...

Tomorrow is an early morning running day for me. I'm doing a 3-4 mile run tomorrow and then planning for a longer run on Sunday. Tomorrow was also supposed to be the Disney half marathon. I have several friends up in Orlando who received the disappointing news that the race was cancelled due to weather 😞. It's always disappointing when a race is cancelled. I remember when my Disney Wine & Dine half marathon in 2015 was delayed and then cut short because of weather (you can read that race recap here). But regardless of how disappointed you get, safety is the most important thing. I don't run in lightening during my training runs so I certainly don't plan to do it during a race (unless that's the only choice I have in order to get to a safer location).

Did any of you guys get affected by the Disney Half race cancellation?

What's the worst weather you've run in?

Would you rather run in the rain (assuming no lightening), the snow (with a single digit wind chill factor), or the deathly heat of Summer?

  1. Running a 5mile resolution run tomorrow forecast 4 degrees, -15 wind chill. Warmer than the same run last year! Also run in the Wisconsin summers... very early so warmest was low 80's. Rain though? Forget it, lightning or not. Unless I have a race scheduled.😀
