I did manage to make it out for a one mile run..
But that's all I could manage before I had to head back inside and go back to bed... which is where I stayed for most of the day. It really sucks that I didn't feel up for a longer run because it was a really beautiful day for running...
But rest is important and getting better even more so. In between resting and watching shows on Hulu, I did more work on my jigsaw puzzle...
Today I realized that I only have four months until my open water swimming event and I am not prepared. Swim training needs to start ASAP, which means I'll be doing it at the same time as the training for my Spring half marathons. I did last year's Swim Miami event with my sister-in-law...
It was my second Swim Miami event and everybody (including me) was surprised I did it since I nearly drowned at the first one {read my race recap to learn all about my lessons from the open water).
When I did the first Swim Miami event (in 2015) I finished the one mile open water swim in 53 minutes and 49 seconds. Last year I finished much faster...
And was proud to wear this medal...
If I'm going to PR at Swim Miami again this year I really need to put in a lot of work, both in the pool and doing actual open water training swims. Which means that some of my training days will have to include a combination of running and swimming😳. It will be like training for a triathlon... without the stress of cycling 😉
How was your run this weekend?
Do you like swimming or cycling?
Have you ever done a triathlon or trained for one? Did you combine your workouts?
