The Numbers: 1 day at a time

Today makes 25 days that I've been doing this running (& blogging) streak...

19 days since my cousin and uncle went missing...

And even in the presence of profound sadness, it's been 5 days since I found this...

I only have 4 days to go until my first half of 2017...

And 3 days until my first race of 2017...

My evening run (for day 25 of the running streak) went well. I only did a mile but I tried to push my pace...
and ended up with a pretty decent overall mile time. I'm trying to get my one mile pace/time under 10 minutes, so I still have a lot of room for improvement. That's going to take more practice and hard work. In the meantime, I'm back on the road for a run tomorrow morning with my usual running group. Most of us are doing the Miami Famous races this weekend so Thursday's run will be a good shake out run before the Saturday 5K event.

I haven't been hydrating and carb loading this week. I haven't had much of an appetite for the past few weeks and I'm not eating as much or as often as I normally do. And today I barely drank any water, so in addition to being "under-carbed" I also feel dehydrated. It doesn't help that I'm still drenched with sweat after my runs (no mater how cool the weather is outside)...

So tomorrow is a big day in terms of increasing my water and carb intake. I know I'm not going to over do it with the carbs, but increased portions will definitely add to my energy reserves. And the goal is to drink more water. period. I have no excuse, I just reached for coffee more often than I reached for my water bottle today. So I totally failed at hydrating and fueling properly today, but I'm going to try again tomorrow...

Do you find it hard to hydrate and fuel during race week?

What's your favorite carb loading food?

What's your favorite Inside Out character?
